Uljanik for sale
The Croatian government is trying again to sell the profitable Uljanik Shipyard for HRK 397.5m ($74.2m).
That is the price it wants for a stake of 59.25% in the shipbuilder.
A further 25% of the Pula-based yard will be on offer to workers.
Five other loss-making Croatian shipyards will also be re-tendered on 15 February after last year’s attempts to sell them did not meet with the state’s approval due to disappointing bid levels.
Bidding deadlines will be 60 days after the tenders open.
One industry source told TradeWinds that the rising debts of the five loss-making yards have been a stumbling block for potential bidders.
