Rederi AB Transatlantic has landed a potential three-year deal in the US for one of its anchor handling tug supply vessels.

Its 200-tbp Tor Viking (built 2000) will join Shell for a firm period of two years with a further one year option, a statement says.
Shell, which previously chartered the ship in 2007, will use it for offshore work off Alaska.
A rate has yet to emerge for the vessel, which is a familiar name in the North Sea spot market.
Stefan Eliasson, CEO of the shipowner, said: “The contract will also provide an improved balance in earnings for the Offshore/Icebreaking business.”
The contract, beginning in May 2010, is conditional on Shell securing drilling permits.
If this is not possible Transatlantic will receive an unspecified ammount of compensation.
