Keppel Corp’s Keppel Singmarine has added contracts for two tugs newbuildings to take its recent order tally to SGD140m ($98.5m).
The first is to build a 65-tonne bollard pull twin-screw Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tug with FiFi1 notation for firefighting from Smit International.
This tug is based on the proprietary MTD 3265T design developed in-house by Keppel’s Marine Technology Development unit.
The second contract is for a 50-tonne bollard pull twin-screw ASD tug for Indonesian shipowner PT Pelayaran Trans Parau Sorat.
The tugs are scheduled for completion in the fourth and first quarter of 2010 respectively, Keppel said.
On Monday Keppel Singmarine signed a newbuilding contract with Royal Boskalis Westminster for a new fall pipe vessel.
The 159 metre vessel is due to be delivered in late 2011 and will be deployed in oil and gas offshore projects.
