Tanker grounds

A small tanker has grounded off the Georgian port of Sokhumi.

The vessel, named as Mag 1, was pushed aground by a storm early on Monday, but was in ballast, the Apsnipress news agency said.

Other sources said the vessel was laden with more than 1,000 tonnes of fuel. There was no pollution reported.

Seven crew members were rescued and no one was injured.

Equasis lists one vessel of that name, the 1,600-dwt Mag 1 (built 1971), managed by Esperance Shipmanagement of Piraeus.
