The 2,100-dwt Akkord (built 1964) was held on 29 July by the country's coast guard, which said the voyage was illegal.
The vessel was carrying grain bound for Armenia from Rostov-on-Don in Russia.
Akkord was taken to the port of Poti. The crew, including 11 Ukrainian citizens and a Russian, were charged with violation of navigation rules.
Akkord is operated by Navigator Private Enterprise of Ukraine.
